The BasicsThis truck is a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 and is equipped with a
Dixon Brothers Racing Long Travel 4x4 front suspension yielding 14" of travel bumped/strapped and a 4 Link rear suspension using Giant Motorsports WIY trailing arms yielding 37" of travel, but bumped/strapped at a modest 28".
AxleIt also has a Ford 9" rear axle pulled from a 70's Ranchero with a
West Coast Differentials prepared Strange Nodular third member loaded with 4.56
Sierra Gears and a
Detroit locker. The axle also has 35spline
Currie Enterprises shafts and a Giant Motorsports WIY rear truss/4-link mounts. Braking is handled by a pair of Ford Explorer 11" disk brakes, plumbed will all stainless hard and soft lines.
ShocksDampening on the truck is provided by a total of 10
Race-Runner by Sway-A-Way Shocks and Bumpstops. The front is equipped with 2 8"x2.5" SAW Coilovers with Eibach coils and 2 2"x4" (shortened to 2" stroke) hydraulic bumpstops while the rear is equipped with 2 16"x2.5" Coilovers with Eibach coil springs, 2 16"x2.5" Tripple By-Pass shocks, and 2 2"x4" Hydraulic Bumpstops.
BodyThe front fenders are Glassworks Unlimited 6" Flair/4" Rise standard fenders. The rear fenders are a custom Glassworks Unlimited 7" flair with the trick "TT" air scoop molded in. The hood is FiberwerX and is fastened with two Autofab hood pins. The front bumper/skid plate and rear bumper were fabricated in house.
Misc. Fuel is provided by way of a 22gallon Jaz fuel cell and Pierburg external pump. Keeping the truck powered up are a pair of
Optima Yellow Top batteries located at the rear of the truck. Interior comfort is provided by a pair of
Beard Ultra Pro 2 race seats and Crow 5-Point harnesses. Exterior lighting is provided by way of three Hella 4000 off-road lights mounted on the front bumper.
