It sucks to clean up gear lube!

Well, I can't say that the truck didn't give me warning. Stopping in Buffalo, I found my U-haul spattered with oil. Finding a rear pinion seal the culprit, I kept blazing through to get home to Wisconsin in one day. A thousand miles, 2 and a half quarts of gear oil, and 11 miles to the gallon with a six cylinder, the warning signs were there. After a few days at the parents, and with a new u-joint and pinion seal, I would try to repeat this 1000 mile a day trek two more times. It almost made it.
